Standard working hours are eight hours per day up to a maximum of 45 hours per week, though it is common to work 40 hours per week.

The payroll cycle in Malaysia is generally monthly with payments made on the last working day. It is customary to pay a 13th-month payment at the end of the year.
Employer contributions to Provident Fund, Social Security, Employment Insurance, and Human Resource Development Fund.
Employees are entitled to 11 paid public holidays per year, determined by the state of the worker.
