Mandatory benefits in Astana
The national monthly minimum wage is 70,000.00 KZT.
Written notice must be given when terminating the employment contract with the reason for termination clearly stated.
Flat rate income tax.
Employers generally provide unpaid leave of up to 5 calendar days following the birth of a child.
A trial period of up to 3 months can be given. For certain categories, it can be extended to 6 months.
Pension (10%) and Health Insurance (2%). Pension (OPC) with gross income subject to OPC capped at 50 times the minimum monthly wage, maximum contribution of 425,000 KZT. Health Insurance (OMIC) applied on income up to ten times the minimum monthly wage, for a maximum contribution of 17,000 KZT.
Employees are entitled to a minimum paid vacation period of 24 calendar days (excluding official holidays).
There are 12 public holidays, excluding religious holidays.
Leave is granted for the period from the date of adoption until 56 days from the date of birth.
Employees are entitled to unpaid leave to care for a child until the child reaches the age of 3 years old.
Wages are paid on a monthly basis and the pay date is determined by either a collective agreement or the employment contract.
Overtime work is paid at the rate of 150% of the regular pay. By agreement, hours of rest may be provided for overtime work.
Mothers are entitled to 126 days of paid maternity leave, 70 days before the due date, and 56 after the birth.
The statutory notice period is 1 month. Payment in lieu of notice is possible.
