Responsibilities:
• Overseeing all library operations and ensuring they are carried out efficiently and effectively.
• Developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives that align with the library's mission and vision.
• Managing library resources, including budget and personnel, to achieve strategic objectives.
• Building and maintaining relationships with community members, stakeholders, and other libraries to promote library services.
• Ensuring the library's collection meets the needs of the community, including selection, acquisition, circulation, and disposal of materials.
• Promoting literacy and reading among the community through various programs and initiatives.
• Ensuring the library's physical and digital spaces are maintained and updated to provide a welcoming and functional environment for patrons.
• Staying updated on current trends and advancements in library services, and implementing relevant changes.
Requirements:
• Master's degree in Library Science or related field from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Experience in library management, including budgeting, strategic planning, and personnel management.
• Knowledge of current trends and issues in library services.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in community outreach or public relations.
• Proficiency in using library management software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• High level of organization and attention to detail.
